Melissa Hill joins the team

By on January 6, 2015

If you’ve been hanging out in our Help Center, tweeted at us, or shot an email off in our direction over the past few weeks, we might have already bumped into each other. If not, hello! My name is Melissa and I’m so excited to be taking on the helm of Community Manager here at The Theme Foundry. It’s been such a treat to get to know the team and some of you — our friends and customers, and I’m looking forward to many more great conversations around the exciting projects we have planned for 2015!

I’m coming from the WordPress community as a blogger, freelance writer, and social media manager. My passion is publishing and I have a background in journalism. One of these days I’m going to finish that novel I’ve been working on, but until then, I’m pretty stoked about the way WordPress makes sharing stories possible.

I live in gorges Ithaca, New York, with my two adorable kids and my soulmate/dachshund, Lula. Most of my free time is spent doing the regular mom stuff — soccer practices, dance class, endless rounds of Street Fighter II. I try to fit in some writing and gardening when I can. In addition to literature, I’ve studied herbalism extensively. In fact, I’m a serial learner, and this year, I hope to carve out some time for a course on carpentry.

Bad puns aside, I’m thrilled to be here making sure Theme Foundry customers have the best kind of experience possible. In addition to manning our team Twitter account, I’m usually logged on to my personal Twitter and I hope you’ll swing by and say hello to me. If you have a cool or exciting WordPress project you’re working on, please let me know. I want to hear about it!

And if there’s something you want the team to know, please do reach out and I’ll be sure to put the appropriate bugs in the appropriate ears. More than anything, I see my role here as being an advocate for The Theme Foundry community. So any time you want to chat, be it WordPress, theme, plugin, community, or cat-related, I’m here!
